Degree Requirements

The Saint Leo MBA is a 12-course, 36-credit program for all concentrations and delivery formats. MBA students take up to two courses per eight-week term. Students can complete the 36 credits required for graduation in as little as one year or may extend their studies for as long as five years. You may start the Saint Leo MBA program at any of the six terms each year, and—with director approval—can pursue up to two MBA concentrations concurrently.

Some prerequisite courses may be required. Students may be able to waive courses if they were taken as part of their undergraduate degree programs, or as post-baccalaureate students.

Professional development opportunities for the MBA in Accounting include:

  • Job-ready prep: Develop key skills, including business writing and communication, coaching and counseling, conflict resolution, intercultural awareness, negotiation, and public speaking.
  • Internships: Enrich your classroom experience with an optional internship. This is especially useful for career changers or recent college graduates who want to develop a new skill set in a particular industry.
  • Professional memberships: Join the local chapter of the American Management Association (AMA). Outstanding students may be invited to join Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society for students in business, management, and administration.
  • Research: Publish your research. Saint Leo M.B.A. students have published articles in several academic journals, including Conflict Resolution & Negotiation, Leadership & Organizational Management, and Business Journal for Entrepreneurs.
  • Conferences: Prepare a research paper under the guidance of a faculty member and present it at a national conference. Attend Saint Leo’s annual International Business Conference, held at our Tampa-area University Campus.
  • International study tour: Learn firsthand about international business on a faculty-led study tour. Past destinations have included Costa Rica, Panama, and China. Students meet with multinational companies and local business leaders. The international study tour is an optional component of MBA575 Global Business Management and is generally offered one to three times per year, depending on interest. Additional fees apply.
